COL Susanne ClarkCOL Clark is currently serving as the 28th Deputy Chief of the Army Nurse Corps. 

As a Registered Nurse, COL Clark earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Baylor University and was commissioned into the Army Nurse Corps as a Second Lieutenant in 1980. COL Clark earned a Master’s of Science degree from the University of Arizona.

COL Clark’s military assignments include Head Nurse, Trauma-Surgical Intensive Care Unit, William Beaumont Medical Center, El Paso, Texas; Director, U.S. Army Critical Care Nurse Course, Madigan Army Medical Center, Tacoma, Washington; Executive Officer to the Chief, Army Nurse Corps, Office of the Surgeon General, Falls Church, Virginia; Chief, Nursing Administration, DeWitt Army Community Hospital, Ft. Belvoir, Virginia; Deputy Commander, Medical Element, Joint Task Force Bravo, Honduras; Army Fellow, Environmental Policy Institute, Atlanta, Georgia; Deputy Commander for Support Services/Chief Nurse, USA MEDDAC, U.S. Army National Training Center, Ft. Irwin, California; Assistant Chief Nurse, Tripler Army Medical Center, Honolulu, Hawaii; Team Leader, Medical Assessment Detachment, Afghanistan; Chief, Clinical Operations/Deputy Commander for Nursing, TF 62 Med, Baghdad, Iraq.

COL Clark is a graduate of the Army Medical Department’s Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, U.S. Army Senior Service College and the Interagency Institute for Federal Health Care Executives. 

COL Clark’s awards include the U.S. Army War College Commandant’s Award for Distinction in Research, Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with 5 Oak Leaf Clusters (OLC), Army Commendation Medal with 3 OLC, Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War On Terror Service Medal and Order of Military Medical Merit. 

COL Clark is a member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society, and the American Organization of Nurse Executives.
