Sergeant Major Richard Brewer

Sergeant Major Richard BrewersSGM Brewer enlisted in the United States Army in 1983, completing Basic Combat training at Fort Knox, Kentucky and Advanced Individual training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma.

Sergeant Major Brewer's military education includes 17C Target Acquisition Specialist, 91A Combat Medic, the Medical NCO course, 91C Licensed Practical Nurse course, First Sergeant Course, Instructor Training course, Army Recruiter course, Flight Medic course, and U.S. Army Airborne School, and all the NCOES courses to include class 57 of the Sergeants Major Academy. Throughout his military career he has served as Squad Leader, Platoon Sergeant, and First Sergeant.

His assignments include: Target Acquisition Specialist Ft. Bragg, North Carolina, Emergency Treatment NCO Ft. Stewart, Georgia, Flight Medic Ft. Stewart, Georgia, Senior Flight Medic Camp Humphreys, Korea, Practical Nurse Ft. Polk, Louisiana, Recruiter Louisville, Kentucky, NCOIC Emergency Room Tripler Army Medical Center, Hawaii, Operations Sergeant Pacific Regional Medical Command, Hawaii, First Sergeant Student Company, Ft. Gordon, Georgia, First Sergeant 547th ASMC Ft. Lewis, Washington, Chief Clinical NCO 62nd Medical Brigade Ft. Lewis, Washington, and presently serving as the Senior Enlisted Adviser, Office of the Army Nurse Corps.

His awards and decorations include two Bronze Star Medal, two Meritorious Service Medal, six Army Commendation Medal, five Army Achievement Medal, the Navy Achievement Medal, eight Good Conduct Medal, two National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, four NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, four Overseas Ribbon, Gold Recruiter Badge, Expert Field Medical Badge, Army Aviation Badge, Parachutist Badge, and the Order Of Military Medical Merit.
